Yellow Rice with Raisins
This is an African side dish using spices and dried fruit. Pair with the Apricot and Beef Skewers

Ingredients

Water

Long grain rice

teaspoon
Turmeric

teaspoons
Salt

tablespoon
Butter
1
Cinnamon stick
½
cup
Raisins
½
teaspoon
Lemon zest
Instructions
In a pot, add everything except the rice, stir well and bring to a boil.
Add the rice, cover, reduce the heat, and simmer for 20 minutes.
Remove the lid and stir, then simmer another 5 minutes. You may add more water if needed. Fluff and serve. Enjoy!
